Trendy Winter Coats – 5 of my Favorites

I’ll be honest, Winter is my least favorite season. Living in Chicago means a long 6 months of cold, wet, windy commutes around the city. Yes, they are brutal and yes, the summer months make up for it. However, staying warm and comfortable for those 6 chilly months doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice on style. These are 5 coats that I’ve been loving this Fall and Winter season that I can dress up or down depending on my plans for the day!

Purple Fringe Coat – Lulu’s

When I saw this coat in Lulu’s fall catalog, I immediately fell in love. I have a little bit of a hippie/boho side to me and the ombre purple pattern was the icing on the cake for this coat! I’ve worn with with high-waisted jeans for a casual look and with a skirt and knee-high boots when I wanted to dress it up!

Leopard Teddy Coat – Shein

Teddy coats have been all the rave for the last couple of winters, so I was excited to finally add my first one to my closet this year. This one has some small leopard detailing on it and because the entire coat is neutral in color, it matches almost anything I wear.

Orange Oversized Teddy Coat – Shein

This oversized coat is also from Shein but offers a bolder color scheme than the one I mentioned above. I actually think I own 1 orange article of clothing (I’m just not normally drawn to this color), so when I saw this one in Shein’s winter catalog, I decided to go for it! If you’re like me and usually go for neutrals, I definitely suggest switching it up with this piece!

Pink Raincoat – Modcloth

This one is marketed as a raincoat, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it for more than a little drizzle. It’s fully equipped with a hood, button-down snaps that are hidden on the inside and additional tassel hooks that go down the outside for added detail. This is definitely the preppiest coat I own and I love that this color makes this coat Spring-ready!

Leopard Peacoat – Modcloth

At this point in 2020, every person probably has at least 1 leopard print item in their closet. Some people probably have many! This piece has been my go-to coat this winter for going out on shoots and for traveling. Not only is it a good quality jacket that keeps me warm in the colder temps, it’s super trendy with it’s all-over leopard print. Plus it’s lightweight to carry and folds up quite nicely so it’s easy for my to shove into my duffel bag if I’m out shooting content and want to take it off for a few shots!
